Here's how to easily make this refreshing summer drink with Japanese green tea at home. This healthy cold beverage is rich in antioxidants and the perfect caffeinated companion for warm days. We'll show you step by step how to prepare this creamy green tea with ice cubes and milk – ideal for anyone who loves matcha or wants to discover it for the first time.
Ingredients (for 1 serving):
-
2 tsp matcha powder (adjust to taste)
-
3 teaspoons of sugar or honey (to taste)
-
30 ml hot water
-
150 ml milk
-
ice cubes
Preparation:
-
Sift the matcha powder (2 tsp) through a fine tea strainer into a milk jug to prevent lumps. Add sugar or honey if desired.
-
Pour in the hot water (30 ml) and mix everything well with a milk frother or mixer until the powder has completely dissolved.
-
Add the milk (150 ml) and stir well again.
-
Pour the finished mixture into a glass with ice cubes.
For a beautiful color gradient (gradation effect):
Use 30-50 ml of hot water and carefully pour the matcha mixture into the glass with milk and ice – this will allow the matcha to slowly rise to the top.
Tip:
To easily dissolve the matcha, you can use a milk frother – if you have a chasen (bamboo whisk), that works just as well, of course.
